Starting from the Department of Resource Engineering at NCKU and now working as a geoscientist in an international oilfield service company. I chose to enter the oil industry only because of the high salaries reported from a magazine back in 2012. However, I soon realized that the oil industry was not as glamorous as I thought and faced business recessions after I graduated.

I joined SLB, the world’s largest oilfield service company, in 2017 and have been working there for almost seven years. I am responsible for all software technical related business in Taiwan, including software support, trainings, service projects and project management. I have to deal with various software and geoscience problems for customers in Taiwan, such as geothermal resource evaluation and CCS site conceptual design.

Success, I realized that requires both preparation and luck, and it means embracing diverse challenges with an open mind. My suggestions to my junior brothers and sisters, learn how to express yourself, hone your English proficiency, seize opportunities for exchange programs, and nurture a variety of interests. These can help you show your confidence and make the most of every opportunity.”
